"You are who you meet"
Björn Ulvaeus left idyllic Västervik in Sweden for a career in music that took him to the top of the charts and around the world. But a special place in Björn's heart is his love for the island of Slottsholmen. Back then it was the place to go on weekends and Björn had a vision of creating a meeting place like that again.
The concepts graphic identity all started with the thin wavy line - surely inspired by the location of Slottsholmen, being built on water, but even more so related to musical sound waves. The wavy line ended up in the Slottsholmen’s brass signage, stationery notepads, light fittings and even an outdoor heated bench engraved with Björn's words "I have a dream, a song to sing".
The narrative was also a collection of small stories from Björn's childhood in the town of Västervik and from his career in music. Those stories came to life through a food concept at the hotels restaurant, developed together with masterchef Stefan Ekengren. It also allowed a collaboration with NY based artist Patrick Vale. In the book "You are who you meet" the collection of storys and graphic illustrations captures the idea behind the Slottsholmen concept of bringing the world home to Västervik.
